Circus Animal Cookie Rice Krispie Treats – Fun & Colorful Snack

  • Author: Linda

Description

These Circus Animal Cookie Rice Krispie Treats are a playful, colorful twist on the classic marshmallow cereal bar. Chunks of frosted animal-shaped cookies are mixed into gooey Rice Krispies, then drizzled with candy melts and topped with whole cookies and rainbow sprinkles. Perfect for parties, kids’ snacks, or themed events, and no baking is required—just melting, pressing, and decorating.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 tbsp unsalted butter

  • 10 oz mini marshmallows

  • 67 cups Rice Krispies cereal

  • 11 oz bag of Circus Animal Cookies, coarsely crushed

  • Rainbow nonpareil sprinkles (some for mixing in, some for topping)

  • Candy melts (white, pink, or both) for drizzle and decorating

  • (Optional) Whole Circus Animal Cookies for topping

Instructions

1. Prep the Pan

  • Grease a 9×13-inch baking pan or line with parchment paper.

2. Crush the Cookies

  • Coarsely crush most of the Circus Animal Cookies; reserve some whole for topping.

3. Melt Butter & Marshmallows

  • In a saucepan on low heat or in the microwave, melt butter and marshmallows together until smooth.

  • Optional: add a drop or two of red food coloring for a pink tint.

4. Mix Everything

  • Remove from heat.

  • Stir in the Rice Krispies cereal and crushed animal cookies.

  • Mix in some of the rainbow sprinkles.

5. Press Into Pan

  • Gently press the mixture into the prepared pan. Avoid compacting too much to keep the treats light and chewy.

6. Cool / Set

  • Let the mixture cool for 30–60 minutes until set.

7. Decorate

  • Melt candy melts in short bursts until smooth.

  • Drizzle over the treats, then press whole Circus Animal Cookies on top and sprinkle additional nonpareils.

8. Serve

  • Once the candy sets, cut into bars and enjoy.

Notes

  • Avoid pressing the mixture too hard — overly compact treats become dense.

  • Use fresh marshmallows for better melting and texture.

  • If candy melts are too thick, stir in a little vegetable shortening or reheat briefly.

  • Store in an airtight container at room temperature. Best eaten within 2–3 days for softness.
