Ingredients
-
1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
-
½ cup (115 g) unsalted butter, softened
-
¼ cup (50 g) granulated sugar
-
¼ cup (50 g) brown sugar
-
1 large egg
-
1 tsp vanilla extract
-
1 tsp baking powder
-
¼ tsp salt
-
½ cup chocolate chips (or preferred mix-ins: nuts, dried
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 350 °F (175 °C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
In a mixing bowl, beat together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until smooth and creamy.
Mix in the large egg and vanilla extract until fully combined.
In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until a dough forms.
Fold in the chocolate chips or your chosen substitutes.
Drop rounded tablespoons of dough (or shape into mini croissant-style bites) onto the prepared baking sheet. Bake for 12–15 minutes or until edges are golden brown.
Remove from the oven and let the bites cool slightly on the baking sheet before transferring to a wire rack. Optional: dust with powdered sugar for a festive touch.
Notes
-
Ensure the butter is properly softened for smooth mixing.
-
Avoid over-mixing once dry ingredients are added to keep bites tender.
-
Let bites cool slightly after baking so they set and don’t crumble.
