Ingredients
1 lb Italian sausage (sweet or hot, based on preference)
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 red bell pepper, sliced
1 yellow bell pepper, sliced
1 green bell pepper, sliced
1 medium onion, sliced
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 cup heavy cream
1 cup chicken broth
Salt and pepper to taste
Fresh parsley for garnish
Instructions
1. In a large skillet over medium heat, add the olive oil. Once hot, add the Italian sausage and cook until browned (about 5-7 minutes). Remove from the skillet and set aside.
2. In the same skillet, add the sliced onions and peppers. Sauté until they are tender (about 5 minutes). Add the minced garlic and cook for another minute until fragrant.
3. Return the sausage to the skillet. Pour in the chicken broth and bring to a simmer.
4. Reduce heat to low and stir in the heavy cream. Cook for an additional 5 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
5. Serve hot, garnished with fresh parsley.
