This Pizza Grilled Cheese Sandwich combines the gooey deliciousness of grilled cheese with the savory flavors of pizza, making it a perfect comfort food for pizza lovers!
Ingredients
4 slices of bread
4 slices of mozzarella cheese
1/2 cup of pizza sauce (store-bought or homemade)
1/4 cup of pepperoni slices (optional)
1 tablespoon of butter
1 teaspoon of Italian seasoning (optional)
Instructions
1. Heat a skillet over medium heat.
2. Butter one side of each slice of bread.
3. Place two slices of bread, buttered side down, in the skillet.
4. Layer each with 2 slices of mozzarella cheese, some pepperoni, and a couple of tablespoons of pizza sauce.
5. Sprinkle Italian seasoning on top if desired.
6. Top with the remaining bread slices, buttered side up.
7. Cook for about 3-4 minutes until golden brown, then carefully flip and cook the other side for another 3-4 minutes until the cheese is melted and the bread is crispy.
8. Remove from skillet, slice in half, and serve with extra pizza sauce for dipping.
Notes
You can customize this sandwich by adding your favorite pizza toppings like mushrooms, bell peppers, or olives.
