Ingredients

1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined
4 tablespoons unsalted butter
4 cloves garlic, minced
1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
1/2 cup white wine (or chicken broth)
Juice of 1 lemon
Salt and pepper to taste
Fresh parsley, chopped for garnish
8 ounces linguine or spaghetti (optional)


Instructions

1. If using pasta, cook according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
2. In a large skillet over medium heat, melt the butter. Add the minced garlic and red pepper flakes, cooking until fragrant (about 1 minute).
3. Increase the heat to medium-high and add the shrimp. Season with salt and pepper, cooking until the shrimp turn pink (about 2-3 minutes per side).
4. Pour in the white wine (or chicken broth) and lemon juice, stirring to combine. Let simmer for 2-3 minutes until slightly reduced.
5. If using pasta, add it to the skillet and toss to coat in the sauce.
6. Remove from heat, garnish with fresh parsley, and serve immediately.

Notes

This dish is best served fresh but can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days. Reheat gently on the stove or microwave.
