Description
Soft, buttery rolls filled with savory ham and melted Swiss cheese — perfect for parties, quick dinners, or as a tasty snack.
Ingredients
-
12 slider buns or dinner rolls
-
12 slices of deli ham (or more, depending on size)
-
12 slices Swiss cheese
-
4 tbsp butter, melted
-
1 tbsp Dijon mustard
-
1 tbsp honey or maple syrup
-
1 tbsp poppy seeds (optional)
-
½ tsp onion powder
-
½ tsp garlic powder
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Slice the slider buns in half horizontally and place the bottom halves in a baking dish. Layer ham slices on the bottom buns, then top each with a slice of Swiss cheese. Put the top halves of the buns back on. In a small bowl, mix melted butter, Dijon mustard, honey (or maple syrup), onion powder, and garlic powder until smooth. Brush this butter mixture generously over the top of the sliders. If you like, sprinkle poppy seeds on top for flavor and texture. Cover the baking dish with foil and bake for 15 minutes, then remove the foil and bake for another 5–7 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the tops are golden. After baking, carefully lift the sliders out of the pan using the parchment or dish edges, then serve warm
Notes
Use good-quality Swiss cheese for the best melt. Don’t skimp on the butter mixture — it gives the tops of the buns a nice flavor and golden color. You can make these the night before and bake them fresh in the morning. If you’re not using poppy seeds, you can omit them without affecting the flavor much.
