Ingredients
  

  • 4 hot dog buns
  • 4 beef burger patties ¼ lb each
  • 1 large onion sliced into rings
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup beer lager or pale ale
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • Oil for frying
  • Mustard and ketchup for serving

Instructions
 

  • Whisk flour, baking powder, and salt together in a large bowl.
  • Gradually add beer while stirring until the batter is smooth and free of lumps.
  • Heat oil in a deep frying pan over medium heat.
  • Dip onion rings into the batter, allowing excess to drip off.
  • Carefully fry onion rings in hot oil for 2 to 3 minutes until golden and crispy, then drain on paper towels.
  • Grill or pan-cook burger patties over medium heat for 5 to 7 minutes per side until desired doneness.
  • Lightly toast the hot dog buns on the grill or in a pan.
