- 2 cups cooked shredded chicken
- 1 cup diced ham
- 1½ cups shredded Swiss cheese
- 8 oz cream cheese softened
- 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard optional
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- 1 can 8 oz refrigerated crescent roll dough
- 1 egg beaten (for egg wash, optional)
- 1 tablespoon sesame seeds or parsley optional topping
Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
In a mixing bowl, combine shredded chicken, diced ham, Swiss cheese, softened cream cheese, Dijon mustard, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper until creamy and well mixed.
Unroll the crescent roll dough and press the perforated seams together to form a rectangle placed on the prepared baking sheet.
Spread the filling evenly down the center of the dough rectangle.
Cut strips about 1 inch wide along both sides of the filling. Fold strips alternately over the filling to create a braided pattern.
Brush the braid with beaten egg and sprinkle with sesame seeds or parsley if desired.
Bake in the preheated oven for 20 to 25 minutes, or until golden brown and cooked through.
Allow to cool slightly before slicing and serving warm.
- Substitute ham with turkey for a milder flavor.
- Add spinach or broccoli to the filling for added nutrition.
- Let cool for 5 minutes before slicing to keep filling intact.
