Equipment

  • 1 large skillet for cooking steak and shrimp

Ingredients

  • 1 lb steak ribeye, sirloin, or preferred, sliced or cubed
  • 1 lb large shrimp peeled and deveined
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
  • 3 to 4 tablespoons butter
  • 4 to 5 garlic cloves minced
  • 1 to 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 to 2 teaspoons lemon juice
  • 1 to 2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce optional
  • Chopped parsley or chives for garnish optional
  • Lemon wedges for serving optional

Instructions

  • Pat steak and shrimp dry with paper towels and season generously with salt and pepper.
  • Heat 1 tablespoon olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat and sear steak pieces until browned and cooked to desired doneness, about 3 to 4 minutes per side. Remove from pan.
  • Add more olive oil to the skillet if needed, then cook shrimp until pink and cooked through, about 2 to 3 minutes per side. Remove and set aside with steak.
  • Reduce heat to medium and add butter to the skillet. Once melted, stir in minced garlic and cook until fragrant, about 1 minute.
  • Add lemon juice and Worcestershire sauce if using; stir to combine.
  • Return steak and shrimp to skillet and gently toss to coat with the garlic butter sauce.
  • Garnish with chopped parsley or chives and serve with lemon wedges on the side.

Notes

  • Finish with a pat of cold butter off heat for richer flavor.
  • Add red pepper flakes for a spicy kick.
  • Pairs well with mashed potatoes, rice, or roasted vegetables.
  • Serve alongside crisp salad or crusty bread to enjoy the sauce.
