Add paprika, Italian seasoning, salt, and black pepper, then stir well.
Stir in uncooked macaroni and bring the mixture to a boil.
Reduce heat, cover, and simmer for 15 to 20 minutes, stirring occasionally, until pasta is tender.
Stir in shredded cheddar cheese if using, and let sit a few minutes to thicken before serving.
