Ingredients
  

  • ½ cup water
  • ¼ cup cocoa powder
  • 2 tablespoons cane sugar
  • 3 ½ cups milk
  • ½ cup chocolate chips
  • ¼ teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Mini marshmallows for serving
  • Chocolate shavings for serving

Instructions
 

  • Bring water to a boil in a small pot.
  • Whisk in cocoa powder and cane sugar until smooth.
  • Reduce heat to medium and gradually add milk while whisking.
  • Heat the mixture for about 3 minutes until warm but not boiling.
  • Add chocolate chips and whisk until fully melted and smooth.
  • Remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract.
  • Serve hot, garnished with mini marshmallows and chocolate shavings if desired.

Notes

  • Watch closely to prevent scorching or boiling for best flavor.
  • Store leftovers covered in the fridge for 2-3 days.
  • Freeze leftovers in ice cube trays to add to coffee or make frozen drinks.
