- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 small onion finely chopped
- 2 –3 garlic cloves minced
- 14 oz can tomato sauce
- 2 tbsp chili powder
- 1 tsp ground cumin
- 1 tsp paprika
- ½ –1 tsp cayenne or chili flakes optional
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
- Optional: pinch of sugar or dash of hot sauce
Brown ground beef in a large skillet over medium heat, breaking it up while cooking. Drain excess fat if necessary.
Add chopped onion to the skillet and cook until softened.
Stir in minced garlic and cook for 1 minute until fragrant.
Add chili powder, cumin, paprika, and cayenne if using; stir to combine.
Pour in tomato sauce and Worcestershire sauce, mixing well.
Reduce heat to low and simmer for 15 to 20 minutes, stirring occasionally, until thickened and flavorful.
Serve spooned over hot dogs, burgers, fries, or toast; add toppings like cheese, onions, or mustard as desired.
- For bolder flavor, add beef broth or ketchup.
- Simmer less for chunkier texture; longer for smoother chili.
- Serve in chili cheese dogs, loaded fries, or baked potatoes.
- Store in fridge for 3–4 days or freeze.
