Equipment

  • 1 baking dish lightly greased
  • 1 mixing bowl for creamy topping

Ingredients

  • 4 boneless skinless chicken breasts
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
  • 1 cup sour cream or plain Greek yogurt
  • ½ cup mayonnaise
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • ½ to 1 teaspoon paprika sweet or smoked
  • 1 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
  • Optional garnish: chopped parsley or chives

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and lightly grease a baking dish.
  • Pat the chicken breasts dry and season both sides with salt and pepper.
  • Arrange the chicken breasts evenly in the prepared baking dish.
  • In a mixing bowl, combine sour cream, mayonnaise, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, and Parmesan cheese until smooth.
  • Spread the creamy topping evenly over each chicken breast, covering completely.
  • Bake uncovered for 30 to 40 minutes until the chicken is cooked through and topping is bubbly and lightly golden.
  • For extra color, broil for 2 to 3 minutes at the end, watching closely to prevent burning.
  • Let the chicken rest for a few minutes before serving and garnish with fresh herbs, if desired.

Notes

  • Use Greek yogurt instead of sour cream for a lighter dish.
  • Add Italian seasoning or garlic salt for extra flavor.
  • Mix in shredded mozzarella for added meltiness.
  • Pairs well with roasted vegetables, mashed potatoes, rice, or a fresh green salad.
  • Store leftovers refrigerated and consume within 3 days.
