1 oven preheated to 400 °F
1 baking sheet lined with parchment paper
1 mixing bowl
1 pastry brush for egg wash
- 2 sheets puff pastry thawed
- 1 cup shredded cheese cheddar, pepper jack, or blend
- 6 –8 slices cooked bacon chopped
- 1 –2 tbsp hot sauce or sriracha to taste
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp paprika
- Optional: chopped green onions or jalapeños for extra heat
- 1 egg beaten (for egg wash)
Preheat oven to 400 °F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
In a mixing bowl, combine shredded cheese, chopped bacon, hot sauce, garlic powder, paprika, and optional green onions or jalapeños.
Unfold the puff pastry sheets and lay them flat on a clean surface.
Divide the filling evenly over the two sheets and spread into an even layer.
Roll each puff pastry sheet tightly from the long side into a log.
Slice each log into 1-inch rounds and place cut side up on the prepared baking sheet, spacing slightly apart.
Brush the tops lightly with beaten egg for a golden finish.
Bake for 15 to 18 minutes until the pinwheels are puffed and golden brown.
Allow pinwheels to cool slightly before serving with your favorite dipping sauces.
- Choose pepper jack cheese for added spice or cheddar for classic flavor.
- Add more jalapeños or chili flakes for increased heat.
- Assemble in advance and refrigerate before baking.
- Pairs well with beer and cocktail parties.
